All four options to experience the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP Stack free trial are available from SAP AG and will require you to Join the SAP Community Network (SCN) before downloading any software. The online only version (aka the Cloud) will require you to have an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account as well.

There are three basic steps to get up and running:

1. Choose your operating environment;
2. Create an Amazon WS EC2 instance or Download & Install;
3. Get started and explore the software.

The four options available to experience the ‘SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP Stack with SAP BW’ free trial as a developer edition are:

SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and SAP BW v7.5 SP01 Trial
64bit using SAP HANA v1.00.102 Database
* Cloud solution available as Amazon Web Service EC2 instance.

SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and SAP BW v7.4 SP08 Trial
64bit using SAP Sybase ASE v15.7 Database
* Cloud solution available as Amazon Web Service EC2 instance.

SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and SAP BW v7.03 SP04 Trial
Windows 64bit using SAP MaxDB Database
* Download and Install on Laptop or Desktop.

SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and SAP BW v7.02 SP06 Trial
Windows 32bit using SAP MaxDB Database
* Download and Install on Laptop or Desktop.

Start with the ‘Download & Install’ versions first to minimise the monthly operating costs. The Red one is strongly recommended as it is for the Windows 64 bit operating systems which is what most laptops and desktops are running now-a-days.
